In 2002 one exploratory/appraisal well was drilled to the depth of 3530m. 3D seismic survey covering 340 sq km of the Medyn block was carried out, and previously acquired seismic data for Pomorskiy and Kolokolmorskiy license blocks were reinterpreted.

Jack-up «Murmanskaya» commenced drilling operations on Medyn-more 1 structure in the middle of July. The first well was spudded under severe ice conditions. On a 10-grade scale, thickness of the ice was 8-9. It is planned to reach total depth of 4200 m by the beginning of November 2003.
