As Arctic offshore exploration, development and production require substantial investments, it is imperative for such a project to attain a PSA status with the government. Preliminary development plans and economic analysis indicate that the current Russian tax system allows for a financially attractive project.

At the present moment the exploration works are being financed by Industrial Investments company and funds, syndicated by them. Within year 2002 and 2003 total cost of exploration amounted to $ 31 million.
